Meeting minutes

The goal of the workshop was to

  • offer additional instruction in more advanced topics that were not covered during the Lisbon Training School
  • assess the current state of digitization projects that were started at the Lisbon Training School and to evaluate workflow issues and encoding challenges
  • provide hands-on sessions to solve particular encoding problems/issues/challenges from the ongoing digitization projects
  • collect further best-practice examples for the WG2 Blog (http://digilex.hypotheses.org)

The goal of this session is to offer additional instruction in topics that were not covered in Lisbon.

The goal of this session is to solve particular encoding problems in the on-going digitization projects.
11:00–11:30— coffee break —
11:30–12:30Challenges in on-going digitization projects and future WG2 activities: A Round Table.
The goal of the round table is to:
• assess the current status of on-going digitization projects and the overall progress made since the Lisbon Training School
• evaluate the collection of the WG2 encoded dictionary samples and pinpoint particular areas (languages, dictionary types, encoding approaches) that are underrepresented
• identify potential topics for transnational cooperation in digitizing historical dictionaries.
• discuss future activities of WG2

Reimbursement Criteria

In order to be reimbursed for your participation in the Barcelona meeting, the following reimbursement requirements have been established:

  • one blog post submitted and published on the WG2 academic blog before the Barcelona meeting in consultation with the task group leaders (see below);
  • active participation in the preparation of the Barcelona meeting, especially in terms of collecting and sharing resources related to legacy dictionaries.
